Even though Calliope Hummingbirds tout the title “Smallest Birds in North America”, they make a big impression on those lucky enough to catch a glimpse at one. Males, like the one in this clip, have dazzling gorgets streaked with unique magenta rays that burst out of the birds throat like iridescent shooting stars.
