Owen Jones meets Frankie Boyle | ‘Grenfell Tower residents were treated as less than human

23 June 2017

We also talked about Theresa May’s woeful performance in the 2017 general election but why simply replacing her with a new ‘broken sociopath’ is not an adequate solution, why trust in the media is so low and the modern tendencies for faux outrage and judgmental moralising.

Tory councillor who oversaw Grenfell Tower refurb flees home after threats from angry residents. Rock Feilding-Mellen moved his family out of his luxury £1.2million three-storey townhouse: here.

Homeless Grenfell Tower fire survivors ‘asked to leave west London hotel with just a few hours notice’. Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council informed them yesterday afternoon they had to be out of the Holiday Inn: here.

Police warn Grenfell Tower fire death toll ‘may NEVER be known’ amid fears of dozens of ‘hidden victims’: here.

Thousands more face evacuation after 34 council-owned blocks are found to have same cladding as Grenfell Tower. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn says it’s ‘a nationwide threat’ as he calls on Theresa May to convene the Cobra committee: here.

Hospitals across Britain ‘exposing patients to same fire risks as Grenfell Tower after cutting corners on safety’. In one case, chiefs at Hereford County Hospital fought to keep details of fire safety flaws secret after an enforcement notice was served on their PFI partner Mercia Healthcare: here.
