Great crested flycatchers nesting in the USA

This video from Florida in the USA says about itself:

6 May 2017

Great Crested Flycatchers have returned to the nest box this year and the female is probably sitting on 4 or 5 eggs. They are outgoing and boisterous birds – even the Blue Jays give them space and let them perch on their peanut feeding perch.

This is the fourth year of flycatchers who usually arrive just as the owls are leaving the box. Mother Squirrel by taking over the owl box caused a shakeup in housing with the owls and flycatchers moving into temporary boxes placed on our house with no cameras. They also caused the woodpeckers to nest elsewhere this season. So all is well, except for the fact that mother squirrel was eaten by a hawk and her kits rescued. Next year I will insure the squirrels can’t reach the owl box and put the squirrel boxes back in the trees and hopefully things will be a bit more orderly, but chaos is the general rule in Nature!
