This video from Ireland says about itself:
Nov 18, 2012 by Trade Union TV Ireland
March to protest the horrific state of affairs as it stands in Ireland, where Savita Halappanavar in the year 2012 in an Irish hospital died suffering and in pain after being denied an abortion she and her husband repeatedly requested.
Enough is enough. No more women can die.
From the Garden of Remembrance to the Dáil, where we will hold a candlelight vigil in conjunction with Galway Pro-Choice to grieve Savita’s unnecessary death. Bring a candle to light to mark her loss.
We will have one speaker at the Garden of Remembrance to start our protest then we’ll march to the Dáil and at 5pm we will light our candles in solidarity with the vigil taking place then in Galway.

Translated from Dutch NOS TV, 2 June 2017:
Conservative Ireland gets homosexual Prime Minister with migration background
Ireland is likely to get a gay premier: Leo Varadkar, son of an immigrant from India. He is open about his homosexuality.
Varadkar was officially appointed party leader of the ruling party Fine Gael and is likely to take over as prime minister soon. He is a politician from the right wing of the center-right party.
His predecessor Enda Kenny announced his resignation last month. Kenny received a lot of criticism in recent months. He was, eg, involved in a scandal within the police.
Gay minister
Varadkar was a doctor and minister of health care. He told openly in 2015 about his homosexuality, during the campaign of a referendum about equal marriage. He received much praise for that.
The choice for Varadkar as the new party leader is remarkable in mainly Catholic Ireland. According to various media, this is a sign of modernization and liberalization in the country.
However, it is not expected that he will be a liberal on all issues. Thus he indicated that he believes that abortion can not be a free choice for a woman.
Likewise, that women can now become Prime Minister in Britain is progress. However, when these women are Margaret Thatcher or Theresa May, that is not much progress in practice.
If Donald Trump would be replaced as president by Kellyanne Conway or Ann Coulter, then that would be the first ever woman president in the USA. However, I doubt whether it would be much, if any, progress in practice; including for women.
If Donald Trump would be replaced as president by Peter Thiel, then that would be the first ever gay president in the USA. However, Thiel is a right-winger who opposes the right of women to vote (like Ann Coulter).
If Donald Trump would be replaced as president by Milo Yiannopoulos, then that would be the first ever gay president in the USA. However, Milo Yiannopoulos is a right-wing racist in a child abuse scandal. Very probably, this would not mean progress, including for LGBTQ people.
