Captain Ska now tells May she’s a Liar Liar
Saturday 27th May 2017
MUSICIANS Captain Ska have teamed up with the People’s Assembly Against Austerity in a bid to oust the the Tories from Downing Street by re-releasing their single “Liar Liar” yesterday.
The track — first released in 2010 — had climbed to number 58 in the charts within hours of being released. Its success in breaking into the official top 40 guaranteed it radio air time.
A Captain Ska spokesman said: “We’ve remixed Liar Liar for this general election because we want to do all we can to expose the horrific effects Tory policy has had on ordinary people.
“Theresa May lies her way through interview after interview without addressing the real issues.
“We want to do all we can to make sure Theresa May is kicked out of Downing Street on June 8.”
The song can be downloaded on iTunes and proceeds will be split between foodbanks across the country and the People’s Assembly.

LABOUR is continuing to close the gap on the Conservatives in the race for power, with the latest opinion poll published today showing that Jeremy Corbyn’s party is just six points behind.
The poll by Survation for ITV’s Good Morning Britain puts Labour on 37 per cent, up three points on a week ago, while the Tories are unchanged on 43 per cent.
Support for Mr Corbyn to become prime minster has risen to 30 per cent, an increase of nine points since a GMB/Survation poll on May 5 and 6.
The Liberal Democrats on 8 per cent and Ukip on 4 per cent are both unchanged, while the SNP is down one point to 2 per cent and the Greens are also down one to 1 per cent.
The findings follow a clutch of polls at the weekend which showed Labour gaining ground and the Conservatives falling to single-figure leads.
Survation interviewed 1,009 British residents aged 18 and over by telephone on Friday and Saturday.

TOP Tory Dominic Raab was forced into an embarrassing apology yesterday for making “deeply offensive” remarks that foodbank users were not “languishing in poverty.”
The former justice minister claimed people receiving food parcels have “a cashflow problem episodically” as he made a blustering attempt to defend the government’s record during a debate on Victoria Derbyshire’s BBC show.
But foodbank charity Trussell Trust, which handed out an astonishing 1.2 million parcels last year, said the main reasons for referral were “delays and changes to benefit payments and low-income issues that include people who are struggling with low pay or insecure forms of employment.
“It is our experience that people living in poverty are more likely to experience a sudden short-term crisis where they are referred for emergency food while the underlying causes are addressed.”
