Trump Wants Exxon‘s CEO As Secretary Of State

Donald Trump is expected to nominate ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson as his secretary of state, two sources close to the transition process told NBC News on Saturday
From daily The Morning Star in Britain:
US: Tillerson tells Nato to boost military spending
Saturday 1st April 2017
NATO countries were told yesterday by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to increase military spending.
Mr Tillerson told his assembled Nato counterparts in Brussels that the US was responsible for a “disproportionate share” of the burden of the imperialist alliance.
In 2014 Nato leaders pledged to increase their spending to 2 per cent of GDP. So far only Britain, Estonia, Greece and Poland are splashing that much cash on their militaries.
But the US spends about 3.6 per cent of its economic output on its war machine — for a total budget bigger than all the other Nato countries combined.
Tillerson’s demands for more money for arms, while blunt, follow previous Nato agreements for more military spending as it becomes increasingly aggressive towards Russia in eastern Europe.
Nato countries have deployed thousands of troops along with tanks and fighter jets to the Baltic states bordering Russia, as well as Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.

Canadian Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan presented a new defence policy Wednesday that calls for $62 billion in additional military spending over the next two decades. Coming just a day after Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland declared that Canada must use “hard power,” the massive rearmament program makes clear that the Liberal government is determined to wage war in pursuit of Canadian imperialism’s global interests and ambitions: here.
US OIL giant ExxonMobil said on Sunday it was pushing for more offshore exploration rights in Guyana’s west — a region disputed by neighbouring Venezuela: here.
