This past weekend, Donald Trump decided to purge members from the National Security Council, and elevate his advisor and known White Nationalist Steve Bannon to the top post. Ring of Fire‘s Farron Cousins discusses this.

Steve Bannon–Donald Trump’s anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim, white supremacist, domestic abuser top advisor–is now holding a seat on the National Security Council.1
Linda, this move is unheard of. Presidents avoid putting political advisors on the council because politics should never impact national security decisions.2 And Bannon’s twisted politics are already affecting them–the Muslim ban is proof.3
Trump’s order to put Bannon on the council has shocked national security experts and Congress on both sides of the aisle.4 The good news is that Congress has the authority to remove Bannon from the council.5 And if they hear from tens of thousands of us, Congress will be forced to take immediate action to kick Bannon off of the National Security Council.

As Trump’s top advisor, Bannon is one of the masterminds behind the unraveling of the Affordable Care Act, the unconstitutional Muslim ban, the anti-immigrant border wall, and the sweeping abortion restrictions coming out of Congress. And now, he has the power to say who among us should be protected and targeted.
This is more than just politics, and Congress members know it. This is about decisions of life and death in the hands of a known bigot. That’s why UltraViolet members are joining a coalition of progressive organizations ready to stop Bannon from wreaking havoc. Congress is on our side, but they need to hear from the public for them to take immediate action against Bannon.
Will you tell Congress to protect the people from Steve Bannon? Tell them to kick him out of the National Security Council now.
