December 21st marks the last time a Great Horned Owl visited the nest in Savannah. Last year the first egg was laid on January 23rd – shortly after the pair returned to the nest. We are hopeful that this visit is a sign of things to come; however, the nest and tree are in much poorer condition than last breeding season after having weathered both a tropical storm and a hurricane in 2016.
