Police catches two lobster poachers
The police on Goeree-Overflakkee has caught two men illegally catching lobsters. Along the water in Ouddorp a car was found that was in the name of a possible poacher. After a while, a man in diving suit came out of the water with a net in which were eight lobsters. RTV Rijnmond reports that they were tied with tie wraps.
The 48-year-old man from Goes said he had just found the net while diving. Soon afterwards, another diver came out, a man of 34 from ‘s-Heerenhoek. He also denied that he was poaching, but in the place where he had surfaced police found seven more lobsters.
Both men have been fined. Their complete diving equipment was confiscated. The lobsters were put back into the water.
