Say what?

Newt Gingrich fired off an unusual series of tweets in commemoration of Pearl Harbor Day in which he noted Japan’s “professional brilliance” in carrying out the surprise attack.

While many marked Wednesday’s 75th anniversary by remembering the more than 2,300 U.S. servicemen killed in battle on Dec. 7, 1941, Gingrich took a different approach.

Apparently, as a sop to right-wing Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, whose government whitewashes World War II crimes, visiting Pearl Harbor. Apparently, according to Gingrich, having Abe as an ally against China and others is worth some whitewashing of history.

Like Australian right-wing Prime Minister Tony Abbott praised the Japanese World War II violent attack on Sydney. And like Abbott helped reviving the notorious Japanese Kempeitai secret police.
