This video from the USA says about itself:
On Thursday, November 17 2016, members of the International Youth and Students for Social Equality at Wayne State University, led by Jerry White, the Socialist Equality Party’s 2016 US presidential candidate, visited Cass Technical High School in downtown Detroit. Students spoke on the election of Trump, the growing protest movement sweeping the nation, and the danger of war and dictatorship.
Jeff Sessions Was Deemed Too Racist To Be A Federal Judge. He’ll Now Be Trump’s Attorney General. He once joked that he only took issue with the KKK’s drug use and referred to civil rights groups as “un-American”: here.
Donald Trump is nominating a known racist and extremist anti-woman senator to be Attorney General–the position in charge of enforcing civil rights laws and protecting all American citizens. 1
That’s right, Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions is up to be Attorney General. The same Sessions who called a Black prosecutor “boy”, said the NAACP is “un-American”, and the Ku Klux Klan was “OK until I found out they smoked pot.”2 Who a month ago responded to Trump’s bragging about grabbing women by their genitals by saying, “I don’t characterize that as sexual assault.”3 Who voted against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act in 2013 and against bipartisan legislation to curb sexual assault in the military in 2014 and 2015.4 The Sessions who was literally so racist that his nomination to be a federal judge was rejected in 1986.5
If we ever needed Senate Democrats to have a backbone, it’s now. Trump is already in hot water for selecting a white nationalist as chief strategist, and the outrage is deafening. Can you sign the petition?
Tell Senate Democrats: “Filibuster Sen. Sessions’ nomination to be Attorney General.”

In 1986, Jeff Sessions was nominated to be a federal district judge. But when Sessions’ racist comments came to light, including telling a Black prosecutor “be careful what you say to white folks” and calling the NAACP “Communist-inspired”, he became one of only two people in nearly 50 years to not even make it out of a committee vote.6 He was unqualified then and he’s unqualified now.
His bigoted attitude has not changed in 30 years. In 2004 and 2006, Sessions voted to amend the Constitution to ban same-sex marriage, and in 2010 to continue banning gays and lesbians from serving in the military. This year, he refused to even consider a nomination to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat. If Sessions can’t even follow what the Constitution sets out, how can he possibly be chief law enforcement officer?
Sessions is a hater of Planned Parenthood who can’t be trusted to investigate and prosecute the wave of clinic violence we’ve seen. His failure to take action to curb sexual assault means survivors of violence will not get the support they need. Under Sessions, tens of millions of Americans will not be able to trust law enforcement to protect them from hate crimes, violence, and bigotry. Senators have acted sensibly to reject Sessions before, and if we are all loud enough now, we can force them to do it again.
Sign the petition to Senate Democrats: “We DEMAND you have the backbone to oppose a racist, misogynist, bigot for Attorney General.”
Thanks for taking action,
