This video is called Meadow Pipit (Anthus pratensis) running, sitting and singing (with black-tailed godwit in the background).
On 1 October 2016, like in other years, migratory birds were counted in the Netherlands (and in other countries), during the annual Euro Birdwatch event.
This year, there was a surprising winner: the meadow pipit. 100,570 migrating birds of that species, mainly from Scandinavia, were seen on that 1 October in the Netherlands.
Second was the chaffinch; 98,391 migrating chaffinches.
Third was the starling: 49,742 birds. In earlier years, starlings were at #1. This year, the weather on 1 October was unusually mild, meaning many starlings were not migrating yet.
