This is a music video of British band UB40, playing Madam Medusa.
Here are the lyrics of Madam Medusa, on Margaret Thatcher, by British band UB40:
Madam Medusa
From the land of shadows
Comes a dreadful sight
Lady with the marble smile
Spirit of the night
See the scourge of innocence
Swinging in her hand
Hear the silent suffering
That echoes through the landFrom the tombs of ignorance
Of hate and greed and lies
Through the smoke of sacrifice
Watch her figure rise
The sick the poor the old
Basking in her radiance
Men of blood and goldIn her bloody footsteps
Speculators prance
Men of dreams are praying
For that second chance
Round her vacant features
Gilded serpents dance
Her tree of evil knowledge
Sprouts a special branchMadam Medusa
Madam Medusa
Madam MedusaKnock her right down
And then she bounce right back
Knock her right down
And then she bounce right back
She gone off her head
We`ve got to shoot her dead
She gone off her head
We`ve got to shoot her dead
Run for your life before she eat you alive
Run for your life before she eat you alive
Move out of the way cos`s you`re blocking out the day
Move out of the way cos`s you`re blocking out the day
From daily The Morning Star in Britain:
UB40 get behind Red Red Corbyn
Tuesday 6th September 2016
POP group UB40 endorsed Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour Party yesterday.
The band’s endorsement is the latest in a list of artists supporting Jeremy Corbyn’s re-election bid which includes drum and bass group Rudimental, hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, comedian Francesca Martinez, pop star Lily Allen and Madness’s Suggs.
UB40 guitarist and vocalist Robin Campbell said: “We support Jeremy Corbyn because he is the only one willing to speak up for working people, who have been badly treated by successive governments, including New Labour, in recent decades.
“He is the only leader offering something different to business as usual. Westminster needs big change, and Jeremy is the man to do it.”
The band are famed for their hits Food for Thought, Red Red Wine and Can’t Help Falling in Love.
Mr Corbyn said: “I am delighted to receive the endorsement of UB40, one of the most successful British reggae acts of all time.
“UB40’s story was and remains inspiring; people from across cultures and backgrounds coming together and combining their talents — in a time when prejudice was more prevalent — and creativity to produce music that has endured across decades.”
