RESPONDING TO Donald Trump ATTACKING SOMALIANS IN MINNESOTA

Translated from Wouter Zwart, Dutch NOS TV correspondent, in Minneapolis in Minnesota in the USA today:

[Somali American social worker Yusuf]: “[United States Republican presidential candidate Donald] Trump scapegoats us. He shouts that all Somalis have links with terrorism. It is sad and makes sure that we as a community are hated.” …

“Children are bullied at school. Recently a girl in a wheelchair was thrown to the ground as ‘ISIS go home!’ was shouted. That’s really because of Donald Trump. He creates with his statements about immigrants an atmosphere of violence: people with hatred in their hearts see this as a justification to do such things. I’m afraid of the day when an unstable person will cause terrible havoc in a mosque. There will be there on Fridays sometimes a thousand people praying.” …

“Precisely because of his hateful sayings Trump makes things worse. Therefore he has actually become a recruiter for ISIS.”

DONALD TRUMP TAKES A HARD LINE ON IMMIGRATION “The Republican presidential nominee firmly shot down speculation on Wednesday that he may be open to legal status for undocumented immigrants, vowing that ‘no one will be immune or exempt from enforcement.'” And Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto insists he told the GOP nominee that he would not pay for a border wall. [Elise Foley, HuffPost]
