Murdoch’s Fox News, another sexual harassment scandal

This video from the USA says about itself:

Andrea Tantaros: Fox News A Sex-Fueled, Playboy Mansion-Like Cult

23 August 2016

Andrea Tantaros has named more Fox News executives in her sexual harassment case, including Bill O’Reilly. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down.

From UltraViolet in the USA:

Fox News is unraveling. First, decades-long CEO Roger Ailes was ousted for sexual harassment. Now, host Bill O’Reilly is named in another lawsuit–and by fellow host Andrea Tantaros.1

The details of the lawsuit are nauseating. O’Reilly tried to lure Tantaros into his home and kept asking her to show him her “wild side.”

There’s more: Tantaros revealed that the brand new CEO, Bill Shine, knew that O’Reilly and Ailes harassed her but told her to shut up about it.

Fox News is once again dealing with a public relations nightmare. We can push them to get rid of O’Reilly and Shine–like we pushed them to fire Ailes–if enough of us speak out.2 Will you add your name?

Tell 21st Century Fox: Clean up the disgusting culture of sexual abuse at Fox News. Start by firing Bill O’Reilly and Bill Shine.

Tantaros points out that Ailes did not act alone. She named several male Fox News contributors in addition to O’Reilly and Ailes and claimed executives helped cover the abuse up. Every top Fox News executive she came forward to ignored her complaints–and took her off the air.3

When former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes was slapped with a lawsuit, 50,000 UltraViolet members spoke out and successfully forced Fox to get rid of him. Now, with another lawsuit naming Bill O’Reilly, who hosts the most popular show on Fox News, and new CEO Bill Shine, who was very carefully chosen to replace Ailes following the scandal, Fox is once again dragged into the spotlight for endangering women in the workplace.

A few weeks back, UltraViolet members forced Ailes out of Fox News when it came to light he has harassed countless women while he was CEO. Getting rid of Ailes was a crucial step in stopping sexist abuse at Fox. But sexual harassment at Fox News won’t stop until everyone who participated and covered it up is held accountable–and we can make sure of that if we all speak out again.

Can you demand Fox fix its sexual harassment problem?

  1. Right now, Fox News is scrambling to contain its ongoing sexual harassment scandal.1 The last thing executives want is the public calling more attention it.

You can cause trouble for both Fox and sexual harasser Bill O’Reilly with a tweet.

Last month, UltraViolet members forced Fox executives to fire former CEO and harasser-in-chief Roger Ailes.2 We can force them to do the same with O’Reilly, who is the latest perpetrator to be named in another sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox.

And O’Reilly is notorious for his thin skin–a few dozen tweets will certainly get his and Fox executives’ attention. Can you take a second to tweet Fox and O’Reilly today?

It’s always best to tweet in your own words, but here are some to get you started:

When will @FoxNews stop putting women in danger? Get rid of sexual harasser @oreillyfactor already.

.@FoxNews needs to clean up its disgusting culture of sexual harassment. Start by getting rid of @oreillyfactor.

The host of @oreillyfactor is a sexual harasser. @FoxNews needs to cut Bill loose.

    Thanks for taking action!

  2. For 20 years, Fox News has pushed a rabidly right-wing, anti-woman agenda. Now Fox News is in deep, deep trouble.

Here’s the situation: Fox News is being engulfed in a sexual harassment scandal that has already taken down CEO Roger Ailes. Over 25 women have come forward so far, and now Bill O’Reilly, the host of their most highly rated show, has been named in a lawsuit filed by former host Andrea Tantaros.1

This scandal has the potential to do irreparable damage to Fox News and its culture of sexism. And if we can raise enough money, we’ll turn up the heat even more with a “Fire Bill O’Reilly” billboard near Fox News headquarters in New York City. Will you chip in $5?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 to help put up a “Fire Bill O’Reilly” billboard near Fox News headquarters in New York City.

For all the horrible things that Fox News has put on TV, who would have guessed that things were even worse behind the scenes?

Some of their most well known on-air personalities have come forward, including Gretchen Carlson and Megyn Kelly. The latest is Andrea Tantaros, a former Fox host who describes the culture at Fox as a “Playboy mansion-like cult” filled with “intimidation” and “misogyny.”2

Fox News, no surprise, has responded by attacking the women who have spoken out, questioning their honesty and calling Tantaros an “opportunist” and a “wannabe.”3

It’s clear Fox News is hoping to sweep all this under the rug and use character assassination to intimidate women into silence. We’re not going to let that happen.

Our billboard is the latest strategy to hold Fox News accountable, and if we can raise enough money, we’ll put it up right near Fox’s headquarters, we will make it impossible to miss. Will you chip in $5?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 to help put up a “Fire Bill O’Reilly” billboard near Fox News headquarters in New York City.

    Thanks for speaking out.
