Japanese Protests at U.S. Military Base in Okinawa
20 August 2016
Police removed demonstrators that were blocking the entrance of Okinawa’s U.S. military base. They were protesting against the U.S. construction of helipads in a nearby village.
Stationed there in ’82. Loved it! But we are sprawled on a tiny island, and my apartment building in town was 6 inches from the buildings on either side. Lovely, beautiful culture, very different from Manila D Japan.
We need to go, the violence brought is unconscionable.
