Police removed demonstrators that were blocking the entrance of Okinawa’s U.S. military base. They were protesting against the U.S. construction of helipads in a nearby village.

  1. Stationed there in ’82. Loved it! But we are sprawled on a tiny island, and my apartment building in town was 6 inches from the buildings on either side. Lovely, beautiful culture, very different from Manila D Japan.
    We need to go, the violence brought is unconscionable.
