Good rare butterfly news from Dutch Friesland

Butterfly macro, Boloria selene

This beauty landed right in front of me the other day while I was busy taking pictures of flowers and things.

Today, warden Roel Vriesema reports from Friesland province in the Netherlands that numbers of the rare butterfly species Boloria selene, small pearl-bordered fritillary, are increasing in the Linde river valley.
