I just finished speaking at the Democratic National Convention, where I addressed the historic nature of our grassroots movement and what’s next for our political revolution.
I hope that I made you proud. I know that Jane and I are very proud of you.
Our work will continue in the form of a new group called Our Revolution. The goal of this organization will be no different from the goal of our campaign: we must transform American politics to make our political and economic systems once again responsive to the needs of working families.
We cannot do this alone. All of us must be a part of Our Revolution.

When we started this campaign a little more than a year ago, the media and the political establishment considered us to be a “fringe” campaign. Well, we’re not fringe anymore.
Thanks to your tireless work and generous contributions, we won 23 primaries and caucuses with more than 13 million votes, all of which led to the 1900 delegates we have on the floor this week at the Democratic convention.
What we have done together is absolutely unprecedented, but there is so much more to do. It starts with defeating Donald Trump in November, and then continuing to fight for every single one of our issues in order to transform America.
We are going to fight to make sure that the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party becomes law. This means working for a $15 federal minimum wage, fighting for a national fracking ban, and so many more progressive priorities.

Being a Democrat hasn’t been easy these last few days. Through the DNC email leak, we’ve found definitive proof that our party has been working to sabotage the campaigns of other Democrats, including our own Alan Grayson. We’ve seen how the sausage gets made in our party, and it ain’t pretty.
From here on out, it’s going to be hard to trust our leaders, and even harder to believe that there are still genuine progressives out there, when our party leaders work so hard to thwart and purge them. But I want to tell you a quick story about why you shouldn’t give up quite yet.
Once upon a time, I was a high school student, watching MSNBC, when I saw a clip of my Congressman on the House Floor. He was explaining that the GOP Healthcare Plan was “Don’t get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly.” At the time, my own family was struggling to convince our insurance to cover treatment for a terminal illness, and so his words really hit home to me. I did some research, and the more I read about him, the more I liked him. He was bold, courageous, and progressive. And most importantly, at the time when my family needed his help the most, he stood up for us.
They say you aren’t supposed to meet your heroes, because they’ll just end up disappointing you. Well, I met my hero, Alan Grayson. I’ve worked with him for years now, and he’s never disappointed me. In fact, I believe in him now more than ever. I’ve seen him get upset and frustrated at policy that he fears will hurt people — like the TPP, and proposed Social Security and Medicare cuts. I’ve gotten emails from him at 3 AM when Congress is in session, because he’s up that late working on getting amendments passed to try to make bad bills better.
And I’ll even admit this: it’s my job to make sure we have the funds we need to win this election, and in times of desperation, I’ve asked him to quiet down about an issue that might be controversial. He has refused. Every single time.
Alan Grayson is the real deal. And he is the reason why I will not give up on this election cycle, and why I’m asking you not to either. We can’t throw away our shot at getting a genuine progressive champion elected to the U.S. Senate.

Wasserman Schultz’s dodgy dealings exposed
THE Democratic Party’s national convention in Philadelphia got off to the worst possible start with the resignation of Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Ms Wasserman Schultz announced on Sunday night that she would leave the party chair at the end of this week’s convention after emails made public by WikiLeaks confirmed that she had schemed behind the scenes against the candidacy of democratic socialist candidate Bernie Sanders.
Mr Sanders had called at the weekend for her to remove herself from the chair.
The Florida congresswoman was heckled by Sanders supporters yesterday as she addressed a breakfast for delegates from her state.
They chanted: “You’re ruining our democracy,” almost drowning out her speech.
The Sanders supporters held paper signs that said “E-mails” on one side and “Thanks for the ‘help’ Debbie,” on the other.
Protected by a row of police officers, she told the crowd during a raucous scene that “we have to make sure that we move together in a unified way.”
Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook insisted that there is no comparison between the disunity at the Republican convention and the state of the Democratic Party.
He sidestepped questions about the role of Ms Wasserman Schultz at the convention, saying that it was “her decision” to step down.
Mr Mook pointed out that Mr Sanders has endorsed Ms Clinton, and would be “doubling down” on that endorsement in a speech later last night.
Meanwhile in Cleveland, Senator Ted Cruz withheld his backing from Donald Trump and encouraged Republicans to vote with their conscience.
Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon accepted that emails attacking Mr Sanders, especially suggestions of using his religious beliefs against him, were “completely unacceptable.”
He claimed, however, that this did not mean that the nomination process had been rigged.
It is unclear whether Mr Sanders can persuade all his supporters to vote for Ms Clinton, many of whom showed disdain for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee on Sunday.
They marched along a main road in Philadelphia to show ongoing support for Mr Sanders, chanting: “Hell no, DNC, we won’t vote for Hillary” and “This is what democracy looks like.”
