Filmed in HD at 60 FPS. Southern Flying Squirrels are small and extremely athletic with the superpower of glide flight, amazing no-look jumps and apparently eyes in the back of their head. Very few predators sneaks up on this squirrel or catches it although many have tried. Filmed from our deck I continue to improve in my ability to capture this cute little rodent in the act of flying. It is interesting to see how it first launches itself like a bullet and then deploys its “wing suit“!
