Bird Father’s Day – Caring For The Kids

Father’s Day for Backyard Birds! – fledglings are everywhere now and here are a few snippets of a male Northern Cardinal, Eastern Towhee and Red Bellied Woodpecker being good fathers and either watching or feeding the little ones. The Woodpecker has the toughest job as their kids do not leave the nest (4 weeks after hatching) until nearly full grown in size, but not coordination – so they are a handful with those sharp beaks.
