The emergence of Donald Trump as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee marks a dangerous watershed for US and world politics. The selection of a fascistic demagogue as the candidate of one of the two major capitalist parties is indisputable proof of the advanced stage of the putrefaction of American democracy. The impending nomination of Trump means that a substantial section of the American ruling class has concluded that the defense of its interests requires massive political repression within the United States and war against competitors and enemies beyond its borders: here.
Why do millennials like Bernie Sanders so much? I love that this is a mystery to Washington. It’s the authenticity, stupid. You can’t fake a 40 year record. This is a generation that grew up in a time when entertainment and media is based on authenticity and not the fakeness of television. And Google just announced they’ll be the “Official Livestream Provider” for the Republican National Convention, which means it’s going to be offering a massive platform for Trump’s racism, sexism, and hate to be disseminated across the globe.2 Over 500,000 people have already called on Google to pull financial support from the convention and #DumpTrump–will you add your name?

Trump, who’s said there will be “riots” if he doesn’t win the Republican nomination, has run one of the most racist, sexist, and violent presidential campaigns in modern history.4 Just last week, he defended his campaign manager who was ARRESTED for assaulting a female reporter, and Trump supporters groped and pepper-sprayed a 15-year-old girl at a rally.5
Google can’t have it both ways. Either it’s a socially responsible company, or it’s a company that sponsors a Trump-led convention. After hundreds of thousands spoke out, Coca-Cola announced it is backing off its commitment to sponsor the Republican National Convention–and it’s time for Google to follow suit and dump Trump.6 Will you sign the petition?

Trump’s venomous rhetoric is not just morally reprehensible–it’s dangerous. Cleveland is purchasing riot gear to prepare.7
A mainstream company like Google shouldn’t want to be associated with Trump’s brand of hate. And with the momentum since Coca-Cola pulled out of the convention, we have the opportunity to pressure Google to do the right thing and stop supporting Trump. The fewer companies there are supporting his campaign, the weaker Trump becomes.

Here’s how to beat Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for President.
For months now, I’ve been saying that this would happen. So I’ve had a lot of time to think about what it means, and what to do about it.
Right now, the clueless tools in the DC Establishment, and their media flaks and flunkies, are spending millions to dig up every stupid, foolish thing that Donald Trump has ever said or done, so that they can blow hundreds of millions of dollars running cookie-cutter negative ads against him. Cue the ominous music.
Doofuses, have you been living in a cave for the past nine months? Did you not notice that Jeb Bush burned through $150 million doing just that, and he won a grand total of 4 (four!!) convention delegates as Trump was winning over a thousand?
Our so-called leaders: “Donald Trump is a narcissist!”
Donald Trump: “Let’s make America great again!”
I’m not sure who will win that “argument.” I do know that it hasn’t beaten Trump so far. And I do know that if that’s what the voters hear, when they’re already in a very sour mood, then they’re going to get really pissed off.
So here’s my modest proposal: Let’s campaign AGAINST Donald Trump by campaigning FOR Justice, Equality and Peace. Our progressive values. Our bold progressive solutions to improve people’s lives.

Donald Trump wants to ban Muslims. Democrats want to provide a free public college education to every American who wants it.
Donald Trump wants Mexico to build us a UUUUUGE wall to keep Mexicans out. Democrats want to give seniors a Social Security raise, and extend Medicare to cover eyes, ears and teeth.
Donald Trump thinks that women are second-class citizens who should be punished for getting an abortion. Democrats want to raise the minimum wage to $15, and provide universal healthcare.
See? Isn’t that lovely? Every time Trump opens his mouth, every John Doe in America who happens to speak French will say, “Je m’en fous!” (“I really don’t give a damn.”)

Here’s a basic principle that political consultants who are paid thousands of dollars an hour JUST-DON’T-GET: it’s far easier to win an election when you stand for something than when you don’t. That’s the right way to beat Donald Trump. Not just by mudslinging, but by explaining what we can do to improve the lives of ordinary people – and then doing it.

Sanders warns of convention row
UNITED STATES: Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders threatened a row at the party’s summer convention yesterday if its committees are stuffed with Hillary Clinton supporters.
He wrote to Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz arguing that standing committees should reflect the support that he and Ms Clinton received in primaries and caucuses.
Mr Sanders warned he could challenge key policies.
