The amount the United States spends on its military and other defense related budget items amounts to nearly 40 percent of the global total, according to a new graphic published by the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation on Thursday.

According to a recently published study by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, in 2015 worldwide military expenditure rose.
The United States government is the biggest spender, 36% of all military spending in the world. Second is China with 13%. Third, Saudi Arabia with 5,5%.
