Dear friends,
In shock. Blankly staring at the images and live updates. Confusion, tears, bewildered hands to mouths. Broken hearts for the victims. Want this to stop.
And then we were moved by the wave of solidarity: taxis bringing people in need home for free, Brussels residents opening their homes to stranded commuters. We are stronger than this, let that be the little bit of hope where we cling to. Strength to everyone.
From the site of the Belgian PVDA political party (translated):
Our thoughts are with the victims in Zaventem airport and Brussels. Much strength to the families, caregivers and anyone who is there.

As a Muslim and a survivor of terrorism, Malala Yousafzai recently spoke out against the problem of dividing victims of terrorism in the East and West: “If your intention is to stop terrorism, do not try to blame the whole population of Muslims for it, because [that] cannot stop terrorism.” We should heed her final warning: “It will radicalise more terrorists“: here.
