Mild winter helps chiffchaff, little egret

This is a little egret video from Azerbaijan, in the Ag-Gol National Park.

Translated from the Dutch SOVON ornithologists:

Feb 26, 2016 – In December, winter birds have been counted for the PTT project of SOVON. … Observers of 426 routes meanwhile have provided information. Their surveys show that this was a good December for chiffchaffs and little egrets. Thanks to the extremely mild weather

  1. This winter had been unseasonably mild in Cambridge, UK, too and it seems to have changed some of the winter bird activity here. My garden has seen much reduced visitation and the numbers and species in the nearby countryside has been unusual – lots more yellowhammer, corn bunting and reed bunting than I’d expect.
