Firebomb attack on Dutch mosque

In Enschede [in Overijssel province], a man yesterday evening threw a Molotov cocktail at a mosque. He was then chased by local residents, who also warned the police. After a short time the 33-year-old man was arrested. The police does not rule out more arrests.

The damage to the mosque at the Tweede Emmastraat is not extreme. The small fire was extinguished quickly by someone from the mosque. In the mosque at the time of the attack people were present.

Last week several mosques in the Netherlands received threatening letters. The letters included depictions of swastikas.
