Princess snubs 36,000 euros toilet
PHNOM PENH – An expensive toilet that was built for a Thai princess has remained unused. Despite the price tag of $ 40,000 (over 36,000 euros), the princess avoided the toilet. She just made through a window some pictures of the toilet.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was on a three-day visit in Cambodia. At Yeak Lom Lake in the northeast of the country everything possible was done to make a private toilet for her. For two weeks people worked on the cabin with air conditioning inside of which was the toilet, writes The Guardian.
The unused toilet has caused an uproar in Cambodia, where most people in rural areas do not even have a toilet. The toilet has been removed and the cabin has been converted into a counter for tourists visiting the lake.
