Sanders is trying to strengthen his support among Black voters in South Carolina, where his rival Hillary Clinton appears to have a commanding lead.

U.S. filmmaker Spike Lee endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders for president Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s South Carolina Democratic primary.

Lee recorded a radio ad for the democratic socialist candidate, touting his economic policies.

I am officially endorsing my brother, Bernie Sanders … Spike Lee

“Wake up! Wake up, South Carolina! This is your dude, Spike Lee. And you know that I know that you know that the system is rigged! And for too long we’ve given our votes to corporate puppets. Sold the okie doke. Ninety-nine percent of Americans were…

  1. Washington Senate Republicans are still stalling on voting rights.

Stalling on one key promise: That every Washingtonian should be fairly represented.

As it stands today, minority voters in Washington state are not always being heard fairly, and so far, Republicans have refused to act.

But our state needs the Washington Voting Rights Act now more than ever — it will go a long way in giving underrepresented communities a voice in our political process. We can’t let Republicans continue to ignore this problem.

Sign now to tell Washington Senate Republicans to act and vote on the Washington Voting Rights Act!

Washington Senate Republicans have taken plenty of harmful actions in the past few weeks. They’ve put forward measures to lower the minimum wage in Seattle and Tacoma, want to roll back rights for transgender people, and debated legislation that would harm our ability to take on climate change.

They have plenty of time to promote their extreme agenda, but they won’t take action to safeguard our democracy.

The Washington Voting Rights Act would allow underserved communities to finally have a voice in their political process — like in Yakima, where three Latinas were elected to the city council for the first time last year — but only after the ACLU brought a legal case against the city.

We need to show Republicans that we demand action NOW.

Please, join me in urging Washington Senate Republicans to drop this obstructionism — vote on the Washington Voting Rights Act!

We should be working for the rights of all Washington residents, not just some of them.

    Very truly yours,

    Jay Inslee
