This video says about itself:
27 January 2016
An immature Purple Gallinule balances on grass while it forages for seeds. These beautifully colored birds of southern and tropical wetlands can be seen walking on top of floating vegetation or clambering through dense shrubs. Their extremely long toes enable them to walk on lily pads without sinking.
Video recorded by Jay McGowan in Venezuela.
