Belgian authorities are investigating Opel Zafira

The Belgian authorities have launched an investigation into the emissions of Opel Zafira cars. According to the broadcaster VRT there have already been police raids at a dozen Opel dealers’ in ten days time.

Last month, the VRT reported that Opel secretly did software updates on Zafiras with diesel engines which resulted in lower emissions of harmful gases. Cars turned out to emit scores of percents less nitrogen oxides after they had been with dealers. Before that, they fell far short of the standards.
