Translated from NOS TV in the Netherlands:
Hunter arrested for poisoning birds of prey
Today, 09:56
Police have arrested a hunter for poisoning several birds, including a hen harrier, reports [regional broadcaster] Omrop Fryslân. The dead birds were in a hunting field in Hallum. Police found the hunter around there.
In his car was a poisoned duck as well. Perhaps he wanted to use it as a lure for the raptors. Also in his car there was a number of banned lead bullets.
The police searched the hunter’s house. There, forbidden pesticides and banned ammunition was seized. He was taken to the police station for questioning.
The birds killed by this poacher also included, eg, a wigeon and a poisoned dove.
