Renault shares shock at emissions search
14 January 2016
French carmaker Renault says fraud investigators inspected three of its sites to look into its vehicle emissions technology, news that wiped billions off its market value in an echo of the scandal engulfing German rival Volkswagen. Joel Flynn reports.
Translated from NOS TV in the Netherlands today:
The French automaker Renault will recall more than 15,000 cars for a modification to their engines. The motors pollute too much. Details of this are not yet known. The recall follows after investigation by French authorities. …
Which models are involved has also not been disclosed.
Last week there was great unrest when it emerged that there had been police raids at Renault.
