Dutch orchids earlier than usually

Translated from the Werkgroep Europese Orchideeën (WEO) in the Netherlands, 11 December 2015:

In early November Mark Meijrink saw leaf rosettes on fly orchids. Normally leaf rosettes of this rare orchid will not appear until mid-December above ground.

The Working Group on European Orchids (WEO) since 2011 together with the Forestry Department does management at a small bit of lime grassland in South Limburg. Together they try to conserve a population of fly orchids. In recent years, the management appears to be successful and the number of plants has increased.
