Fish migration in the Netherlands, video

This 5 December 2015 video is about fish migration in Drenthe province in the Netherlands.

The video shows how various fish species cross fish ladders in the Peizerdiep and Eelderdiep canals.

Since the Peizerdiep fish ladder was built in 2014, it is estimated that some 10,000 common roach migrated there. Common bream was another frequent species.

Other species were northern pike, ide, carp and eel. And perch (only a few individuals).

Fish from 8cm to 70cm in size have used this fish ladder.
