This is a Cetti’s warbler video.
Dutch daily De Stem reports this week that this year, 745 Cetti’s warbler nests were found in Biesbosch national park. This is probably three-quarters of all nests of this songbird species in the Netherlands.
In 1978, 20-25 Cetti’s warbler couples nested in the Biesbosch. Then, severe winters made the birds locally extinct.
Cetti’s warblers returned in 2006. In 2010 there were 314 nesting territories.
