Translated from NOS TV in the Netherlands:
Special hedgehog arrived at Frisian animal shelter
Today, 17:41
De Vogelhelling in Ureterp is flooded with young hedgehogs, says the site of Omrop Fryslân. People bring many young animals to the animal shelter. There’s a hedgehog there which no one recognizes as the Dutch species. The animal has a bigger snout, larger ears and has longer legs. The carers are baffled.
In most cases, the young hedgehogs have lost their mothers because the nest is disturbed by people who clean up their gardens. In Ureterp are currently 35 hedgehogs.
Maybe this unusual individual is a hedgehog from some country far south of the Netherlands.
