Western Grebe pair courting
22 July 2015
The Western Grebe is one of our largest grebe species, with an elongated and graceful appearance, and an elaborate courtship ritual that involves male and female pairs “dancing” together across the surface of lakes and ponds. This species nests in wetlands throughout western North America, and spends the winter on the Pacific coast.
