Ahmed Mohamed, 14, an Irving MacArthur High student who invents as a hobby, talks about being detained and interrogated after bringing a homemade clock to school Monday that was mistaken for a hoax bomb.
Ahmed Mohamed’s family are refugees from Sudan. Ahmed Mohamed’s father said he is afraid his son was arrested, handcuffed, brought to a prison, and suspended from school for three days because of xenophobia.

It’s so sad that so many are just afraid. I hope this student continues to be an inventor.
