Mother of dead black woman in the USA: This means mar

“I have to bury my child. She was not my offender, not my suspect. She was my child,” said Geneva Reed-Veal during a memorial service for her daughter.

Her daughter, the 28-year-old Sandra Bland, was arrested in Texas two weeks ago in a harsh way, when she refused to get out of her car. On eyewitness video one can see how she was worked against the ground. Three days later she died in her cell.

During the memorial service, the mother responded furiously: “Once I put this baby in the ground, I’m ready … This means war.” She also said that the death of her daughter “will change the world.”

Future

Bland graduated in 2008 in Texas, then initially went back to her childhood home in Illinois, but recently got a job at her old university in Texas. According to her mother, she was determined to fight in Texas for civil rights. “She said to me that she was going back to Texas and stop all the injustices in the South.”

It is still unclear why Bland died. The version of the police is that she committed suicide. Her mother does not believe that. “I can not think of any reason why she would commit suicide. She was, quite the contrary, very excited about her future.”

A friend also told the American channel ABC 7 that suicide was out of the question for her. “She cannot possibly have committed suicide. Sandy was strong.”

Transparency

The police investigation into the death is still ongoing. Senator Royce West of Dallas thinks that Bland should not have been put in jail. “When you see what has happened, then you will have to agree with me. She did not deserve to be locked up.”

West wants full transparency in the investigation into the police action, led by the FBI.

Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis said Monday that the death of Sandra Bland was being “treated like a murder investigation,” amid a string of revelations casting doubt on police claims that Bland’s death was a suicide. Bland, an outspoken opponent of police violence, was found hanged in her jail cell only three days after her July 10 arrest following a supposedly routine traffic stop: here.

Billie Holiday-Strange fruit- HD

A magic song from a magic voice

Lyrics

Strange Fruit

Southern trees bear strange fruit
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees

Pastoral scene of the gallant south
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop
Here is a strange and bitter crop

  2. The Sandra Bland has been on ABC, Morning Breakfast program having omitted her affiliation to political activism that would explain her being in dire straights if not a state murder? it is this type of political sanitization of ABC leaving out crucial details that makes this organization little more than a censuring agent for the Australian public increasing poor taste and mediocrity now becoming a serious infliction and increasing the decline of consciousness
