Solar pumps prove to be excellent tools for lending grassland birds a helping hand in spring. These pumps are used for the flooding of pieces of meadow in spring and the creation of wetland areas. At these places, we see that grassland birds like lapwing and redshank do much better. BirdLife in the Netherlands therefore also funds this year several solar pumps, for grassland birds can use all the help they can get.
