Saudi bombing kills Yemeni factory workers

This video says about itself:

23 dead: Air strike causes massive inferno at Yemen dairy factory

An air strike on Yemen’s Red Sea port of Hodaida has destroyed a dairy factory, killing 23 workers today (Wednesday 1 April).

The attack appeared to be one of the biggest cases of civilian deaths in a Saudi-led campaign against Houthi militias.

After killing women, children, refugees, now killing factory workers … who is next?

From daily The Morning Star in Britain:

35 factory workers killed in Saudi bombing campaign

Thursday 2nd April 2015

SAUDI warplanes hit a factory in the Yemeni city of Hodeida yesterday, killing 35 workers.

The bombings came as a Saudi-led coalition’s campaign against Houthi rebels entered its seventh day.

The Houthis have overrun the Yemeni capital Sanaa and several provinces, forcing President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi to flee abroad.

Yesterday’s air strikes supposedly targeted rebel-controlled army camps in the port city of Hodeida, but also hit a dairy products factory.

Parts of the building collapsed and at least 35 workers were killed.

Saudi officials alleged the factory had been used as a rebel weapons cache.

International aid groups have expressed alarm over high civilian casualties in the escalating crisis.

A report by UN children’s agency Unicef on Tuesday said 62 children had been killed and 30 wounded during fighting over the past week and 19 civilians died when air strikes hit a refugee camp on Sunday.

The Saudi-led war in Yemen continued Wednesday, with the bombing of a dairy and juicing factory near the western port city of Hodeida killing at least 37 workers and injuring 80 others. The factory was hit by two bombs dropped by warplanes from the Saudi-led coalition, according to a Yemeni army newspaper: here.
