European bison coming back to Dutch Veluwe

European bison role in ecology, by Jeroen Helmer

Translated from the Dutch ecologists of ARK Natuurontwikkeling:

Eight years ago ARK Natuurontwikkeling and PWN brought European bison back into the Dutch countryside. The first herd lives in the dunes of Kraansvlak in Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. Next spring, there will be a group of bison in the Veluwe region and there are concrete plans to bring these animals to Schiermonnikoog island. This species along with other grazing animals fulfills an important role in nature. ARK artist Jeroen Helmer pictured this key role. The result is downloadable for everyone for free.

This video is about European bison in Kraansvlak.
