This video says about itself:
Spain’s women turn to sex for money
4 August 2012
Spain’s government is desperately trying to rein in spending after accepting a 123 billion dollar package from the European Union in July. And this economic crisis is forcing more Spanish women to take up prostitution to make money. Authorities in some cities are clamping down on the sex trade. Al Jazeera’s Barnaby Phillips reports from Barcelona.
From daily The Morning Star in Britain today:
SPAIN: The ruling Popular Party’s top EU election candidate has apologised for a sexist remark that could damage his chances.
Miguel Arias Canete said last week that he had felt restrained during a debate with Socialist candidate Elena Valencia because “a debate between a man and woman is very complicated. If you abuse your intellectual superiority you look like a male chauvinist cornering a defenceless woman.”
This is not the first time for sexism in the conservative Popular Party (founded by a former minister of dictator Franco). Like in their government’s attack on women’s rights. And in defending rape; etc.
