Two porpoises saved from death in fishing net

This video is about two harbour porpoises. Near the Dutch coast between Katwijk and Wassenaar, they had become entangled in a fishing net.

They would have died, if a lifeboat would not have arrived. The lifeboat crew cut the porpoises loose from the net.

One of the lifeboat crew members said (translated):

I have saved several people, but it was still a very special experience to be able to free these beautiful animals.

After their liberation, the porpoises swam away.
