Little Gull are scarce but annual passage migrants and also irregular winter visitors. They breed in eastern Europe but migrate past and over the UK in the spring and autumn. Some birds are storm driven into the harbour like this bird was during the winter storms of 2013/14. 1st winter birds have a characteristic ‘skeletal’ look with black and white markings on the upper wing and head.
The videos also features (bigger) black-headed gulls; oystercatchers; starlings; and a dunlin.
