Sea eagle, osprey, egrets and fungi

This Dutch video is about birds in the Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve.

21 September 2013. To Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve, in Flevoland province in the Netherlands.

As we approach it, coots and great crested grebes swimming. A buzzard sitting on a traffic sign. A magpie.

At the Praambult vantage point, we see konik horses. And a great egret.

Mute swans. A buzzard in a leafless tree. A grey heron. House martins on migration.

A northern lapwing. A big group of goldfinches flying.

Then, something special. A young osprey sitting in a tree; probably during its first migration to Africa.

A great cormorant flies past.

Maybe a hundred goldfinches by now sit together in treetops.

In another tree, a hobby cleans its feathers,

Stock pigeons.

Wood pigeons.

We continue along the railway. The next vantage point is De Krakeend.

On the railway wire, a carrion crow and two kestrels sitting.

Grey lag geese flying.

We continue to a lake. Great egret. Spoonbill. Mallards. Black-headed gull.

Two roe deer.

A stonechat.

A chaffinch.

Near the visitors’ centre, a robin sings.

From the hide, we see shovelers, teal and gadwall ducks swimming.

Here is another Dutch Oostvaardersplassen video.

We start walking to another hide, De zeearend.

Near the bridge, many carp.

A great spotted woodpecker. A wren sings.

Chicken of the woods

Chicken of the woods fungi on a tree.

About fifty starlings flying.

Just after that, ten bearded reedlings flying together, calling.

A pheasant calls.

A jay flying while calling.

From the hide, shelducks. Many barnacle geese.

A red deer.

Behind a herd of konik horses, a white-tailed eagle sitting on a tree.

Three kestrels fly together, just in front of the hide.

As we walk back, a great crested grebe with chicks.

We hear a greenfinch; and a little grebe.

When we are almost back at the visitors’ centre, we hear a water rail call.

After the Oostvaardersplassen, we continued to another nature reserve not far away: Lepelaarplassen. Stay tuned.

    VEEL GEKRAAGDE ROODSTAARTEN IN OOSTVAARDERPLASSEN.

landschap weer verder veranderen.
Kale bomen dwars over
waren allemaal piekfijn in orde!
