Kitty (or do you prefer Kestrel41), Really nice video. I find the birds pretty and interesting; the way they feed. But also I find the medium they feed on also interesing. I see that there were several stones which seemed to be puposefully placed. Yet in the background was a field. The birds seemed to preferred the layed up stone to feed on. Is there a reason? Does the stone serve as a place for insects or do the buntings prefer seeds? HELP! Wally

Hi Waldo, the stones are part of a dike near where the river Rhine flows into the North Sea.

In summer (when they nest in the Arctic) they feed on insects. In winter in the Netherlands they feed on seeds.
