This is a video about young spotted flycatchers fledging from the nest.
Almost five years ago was the first time I went to Corversbos nature reserve.
Today, I was there again.
On our way, swifts flying overhead.
Close to the entrance, a roe deer walking quietly between the trees. While a nuthatch called.
A bit further, great spotted woodpecker sound.
On the biological field, owned by conservation organization Natuurmonumenten, non-grain flowers do not have to be scared that pesticides will kill them. Quite some cornflowers flowering between the rye.
A black-tailed skimmer dragonfly sitting on the footpath.
A grey heron flying.
A chiffchaff singing in a tree behind the field.
Two buzzards circling in the air.
We go on to Gooilust reserve.
Near the entrance, a pied wagtail.
A male chaffinch on the roof of a small building near the entrance.
Greenfinch sound.
A green-veined white butterfly.
Common blue damselflies and blue-tailed damselflies in the reedbeds around a circular pond.
On top of the Gooilust main building, a pied wagtail.
A song thrush on the lawn.
Pondskaters in the water near a small bridge.
About forty grey lag geese flying above a meadow.
Then, on a fence, a spotted flycatcher.
Every now and then, it flies away to catch insects. Sometimes, it lands on the fence again, sometimes in a tree or on top of an old tree trunk.
Also on the fence, blue tits and a robin.
As we go back, a male bullfinch.

Thankyou for linking to my post ‘Apodidae – the swift’, I’m very pleased it is included here in your post. It sounds like you had a very good day out at Conversbos, it must be a lovely place to support such a diversity of wildlife.

Hi, thanks for your kind comment! Your fine post on swifts deserves links. Corversbos is beautiful indeed. Though it is close to Hilversum town, it borders also on other nature reserves like Gooilust, which is good for diversity.
