This video from Suriname says about itself:
Frits van Troon (1936) is Surinam’s foremost expert on trees and plants. As a member of the Saramaccan community he grew up in the village of Kadju along the upper Suriname river.
Jacqueline Borg in Leiden, the Netherlands, reports that the local natural history museum will exhibit a very old (seventeenth century) collection of plants from Suriname for one day.
That day, Sunday 24 June, there will also be a lecture om this “Hermann herbarium“.
A digital version of that herbarium is made on the Internet now. The site is already here. Starting 24 June, the whole herbarium will be there.
Paul Hermann, the collector, collected plants not only in Suriname, but also in Sri Lanka.
