To the birds of Algarve, Portugal

Friday, 6 April 2012.

This afternoon, our plane departs to Faro airport in the Algarve region: the southernmost province of Portugal, near the Atlantic coast.

Which birds will we see there?

Some photos of Algarve birds are here.

Here is a video of Algarve birds, including a purple swamphen with chicks.

From the train to our airport of departure, Egyptian geese.

The plane flew over Schouwen island at 15:34, Portuguese time.

A minute later, Noord- and Zuidbeveland islands.

16:25: over Nantes in France.

18:20: Faro airport. Four swifts flying.

In Tavira town, a blackbird singing.
