Official burial for civil war heroes

SPAIN: Hundreds of people attended an official burial ceremony in Torellas for the town’s former mayor who was killed in 1936 by troops loyal to fascist leader Francisco Franco.

The bodies of Gregorio Torres and three others — Luis Torres, Feliciano Lapuente and Marcelino Navarro — were exhumed in 2010.

The four had been abducted by fascist soldiers, driven out of town and shot.
